Part of the Security measures that we’ve taken, you know I’ve talked about this, it’s always about layers of Security this is a big one and it’s called kai apple which has not given me any apples but the beauty of it is it’s thorns.

If any human or animal try and get to that fence, oh they will pay for it quite dearly because of how nasty those thorns are and they root really easily so you just have to stick them in a pot one of these low hanging and then it’ll that’ll root and you have another kai apple.

I put this across this whole fence, we really like this one because of the thorns it offers a great deal of protection it’s also really fast growing so it’ll get all these branches that come out and we trim it to keep it a particular shape but it does grow pretty fast and to produce fruit it normally would like a little bit of a sunnier spot but for us it meets one of the main requirements of being along this fence. Kai apple is one of our favorite barrier crops on the property, it’s super fast growing so it’s a great option if you want to cover a fence quickly its thorns offer a great deal of Security and if you get it to produce fruit you have a great edible crop.
